Basic Design Course Length: 10 lessons (1.5 hr, weekly) Maximum Enrollment: 8 students Language Used : Cantonese/Mandarin/English This is a certificate course designed for students with little or no experience in floral design. It is also appropriate for students with some experience in floral design but no professional training.  Emphasis is on learning the fundamental elements and principles of design as well as learning proper mechanics of creating a floral design.  Basic Design Principles, i.e. balance, harmony, proportion, depth and dimension, rhythm, etc. Exploration of the color theory - color harmony, color psychology, monochromatic schemes versus contrasting or complementary color schemes. Basic material usage - mediums, working mechanics, design aids and accessories.  Preparation and care of cut flowers - various preservative, special conditioning, storage and vase life. Proper care and handling techniques will be discussed. A flower usage presentation - the varied uses of an individual flower type. 2. Wedding Design Course Length: 10 lessons (1.5 hr, weekly) Maximum Enrollment: 8 students Language Used : Cantonese/Mandarin/English This course is designed for students who want to discover the newest wedding styles, trends and colors.  Designing spectacular bouquets while improving your basic mechanics. Selling, planning and installing weddings of all sizes. Designs for bridal bouquets, attendants bouquets, flower girls, corsages and boutonnieres will be discussed. Basic corsage preparations and designs, stemming and wiring techniques, bow and ribbon treatments. Special presentation of unique and contemporary designs for varied uses as in shoulder, wrist or hairpieces. Wedding Work - the wear and carry pieces for the traditional and contemporary bride. 3. Church & Party Design Course Length: 10 lessons (1.5 hr, weekly) Maximum Enrollment: 8 students Language Used : Cantonese/Mandarin/English This is a certificate course designed by B&A, according to international standard and practice.  The aim of the course is to give professional training to students or florists the tools and the mechanisms of floral design in church and party. The course covers different types of floral arrangement and table settings which  emphasizes on the techniques used, the application in different occasions and celebrations to create atmosphere.  The newest theme design and styles, trends and colors and flower combinations are also be discussed.
